Technology

The unique wake-up-algorithm of aXbo chooses the optimal wake up time through differentiating the various sleeping phases by tracking the body movements. It thus determines the optimal wake up time. Your movements are detected and gathered with a comfortable towelling wristband and submitted to the sleep phase alarm clock.

It has been scientifically proven that body movements of human beings during sleep have a direct connection to the different sleeping phases. aXbo registers the body movements via a sensor in a comfortable towelling wristband and transmits the data exclusively during the rare movements. During average 300 movements per night there results a total transmission period of only 3 seconds (0.01 seconds transmission period per movement). aXbo sends with extremely low capacity of 0.0001 Watt (comparison of a mobile transmitting power: average 1 Watt)

Waking up more easily in accordance with your bio-rhythm!

  • The optimal wake up time is determined by sophisticated technology which is incorporated into a comfortable towelling wristband!
  • A sensor distinguishes the sleep phases through your body’s movements!
  • Within 30 minutes of the set waking time aXbo wakes us with pleasant waking sounds from an almostawake-moment!

Even a few minutes can make a world of difference!

How do I use aXbo? How does it work? You set your new aXbo as usual to your wake up time e.g. 7.00 a.m. The best wake up window is 30 minutes; e.g. you might be woken up at 6.47 a.m.-your optimal wake up time. Thus aXbo even gives you a little extra time.

Can I oversleep with aXbo? In the event of the above-named example aXbo will wake you up reliably at 7.00a.m.at the latest.

Human sleep

Naturally each person has his/her own individual sleeping pattern, but there are some factors that mark the sleep of a healthy grown-up:

  • Each person goes through various sleeping cycles during sleep.
  • Each sleeping cycle, which lasts approx. 90 to 110 minutes, alternates with deep-sleep, light-sleep and REM-sleep.
  • REM (Rapid Eye Movement) is the phase in which you dream. Sleep gets less deep towards the morning and REM phases get distinctly longer.
  • There are also sleeping differences between the sexes. Women move more in their sleep but less intensive, whereas men move less but more intensive.
  • Both REM and deep sleeping phases are marked by almost no movements. If you move from a deep sleeping phase into a REM-phase and from a REM-phase into a deep sleeping phase your body movements get more active.

This is where aXbo comes in. The physical activity that characterises the various sleep phases is monitored, so that aXbo is able to calculate the optimal point at which to wake you.
